Alfagomma lays corner stone of its plant in Torreon

The growth of La Laguna region continues and as a result of its competitive strengths was laid the cornerstone of the Italian company Alfagomma, in Torreon, a plant in which 20 million dollars will be invested at the beginning.

The Italian company will be settled in an extension of 50,000 square meters in the Pymes Industrial Park of the Mieleras industrial sector, in Torreon and it will generate about 100 jobs at the beginning of its operations in March 2020, to then increase to 500 workers when its production reaches 100 % of its capacity.

Maurizio Barbini, general manager for South America of Alfagomma, was glad of being in Torreon to share the beginning of this project.

He described that Alfagomma is a world leader in hydraulic items, by manufacturing hydraulic rubber and thermoplastic hoses, accessories and hydraulic adapters, quick-release and Multi-K couplings, swivel and plug connectors, hydraulic hose assemblies, industrial stainless steel corrugated hose, industrial hose assemblies, among other industrial accessories.

“We are working for John Deere, Caterpillar, big industrial manufacturers, and I have no doubt that this is a first step that will allow us to make our way in Mexico,” said Barbini.

He explained that Alfagomma is a group originally from Milan and it currently operates in 25 countries, this plant will be the first one in Mexico and they choose La Laguna because “customers are in Coahuila and Torreon and it has higher availability of safe and good workforce.”

Meanwhile, Miguel Angel Riquelme, governor of Coahuila, said that this is very good news for Torreon and La Laguna and said that Alfagomma's arrival reinforces this promotion that has been made of the state in other countries.

He insisted that the competitive advantages of La Laguna have to be shown, since there is the capability of being local suppliers on each region, and said to the businessmen arriving today with Alfagomma, that as an authority they are doing everything for investments being productive.

The event was attended by Laercio Patrali, purchase manager of Alfagomma; Fernando Trevino Botti, general director of Trebotti, firm in charge of the construction of the plant; as well as businessmen and representatives of chambers in La Laguna and government authorities like Jorge Zermeno, mayor of Torreon, Roman Alberto Cepeda, secretary of Labor; Javier Diaz Gonzalez, Fiscal General manager, and Jorge Ramon Montemayor, representative of the Ministry of Economy.
